[TRANS] 120329 JYJ Which Cannot Be Heard In “Inkigayo”, Can Be Heard In “Rooftop Prince”

In the third episode of “Rooftop Prince”, which was broadcast on SBS on 28 March, it seems that compared to the attractive development of the plot, the melodious music is more attention grabbing. However, you may still miss it if you are not paying attention.

The music that appears when the crown prince’s 3-man consort, Song Man Bo (played by Lee Min Ho), Do Chi San (played by Choi Woo Shik) and Woo Yong Sul (played by Jung Suk Won), make a video call to the crown prince, Lee Gak (played by Park Yoochun), at the fast food joint is “Be My Girl” from JYJ’s first official album, “The Beginning”.

Aside from that, JYJ’s “Be The One”, also from “The Beginning”, appears when Park Ha (played by Han Ji Min) is at the departmental store with her mother.

It is normal for singer-turned-actors to have their songs played in the dramas, but for JYJ songs to appear in “Rooftop Prince” is something special for JYJ and their fans, since it is usually not easy to hear these songs on programmes. Although JYJ is able to appear in dramas, and appear actively in news programmes, they are still not able to appear on music programmes.

Perhaps someday we would be able to hear JYJ’s songs not as background music, but as live performances. And perhaps someday we will be able to see these three men stand proudly on the stage of music programmes.

[NEWS] 120330 JYJ’s Yoochun talks about his role in ‘Rooftop Prince’

JYJ‘s Park Yoochun recently sat down to talk about his character in his new SBS drama, ‘Rooftop Prince‘.

On March 30th, he spoke to C-JeS Entertainment, stating, “When I’m at the drama film set, I don’t really have the time to check the reactions so it’s hard to get a feel of how my character’s being received. Everyone at the company told me that I received a good response so I felt really great about that.”

He continued, “There’s a bit of pressure in having to live up to expectations, but I want to pay back the support I’m receiving by focusing on my acting with each new episode, and presenting good skills.”

Yoochun plays the role of Lee Gak, a charismatic young man with a soft heart when it comes to love. After losing his wife the Princess, he wakes up 300 years later in 21st century Seoul. He stated, “Lee Gak is in a very sad predicament right now. He’s in a really big crisis, so I hope that everyone will understand and support the prince!”

A representative of the drama also expressed, “The character is a bit detached from reality so that was one of our main concerns. Fortunately, Park Yoochun’s natural acting skills has helped viewers focus on Lee Gak’s situation at hand.”

The drama is off to a great start, and Yoochun’s character is already melting the hearts of everyone from elementary school students to those in their 40s and 50s!

[NEWS] 120330 Yoochun’s Natural Acting Skills on ‘Rooftop Prince’

Yoochun is successful in winning the audience over with his different type of charm that he shows off in ‘Rooftop Prince.’

The Wednesday episode of SBS ‘Rooftop Prince’ Yoochun depicted crown prince of Lee Gak from the past showing off a different charm as he followed Han Ji Min.

The episode drew laughter as Yoochun, instead of his usual red training suit he decided to wear a denim jacket along with jeans, seemed pleased at his attire. Especially, Do Chisan bringing a pair of ugg boots stating that he found the kings shoes and Yoochun nodding in agreement was the highlight.

Surely this kind of odd behavior with sad emotion in a character was never seen before. This kind of unrealistic character however has been well received through the excellent acting skills of Yoochun.

SBS drama director stated, “Park Yoochun demonstrated his outstanding abilities.”

Yoochun was in doubted if he could pull off such a comical character after playing serious roles in ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ and ‘Mr. Ripley.’ However, as each episode passes Yoochun is receiving praise for such realistic acting.

As in the future episodes it was stated that Yoochun will be removing his wig around the fifth episode. The drama production team shared yesterday, “It is expected for him to be given a haircut to create an image which is more sophisticated.” Such image change will bring a more positive impact for ‘Rooftop Prince.’
